Overhead Cranes Configured Around Your Workshop
Looking for an overhead crane manufacturer or supplier? SAICO coordinates engineering, sales, production communication and quality review with qualified manufacturing partners. Tell us your load, span, lifting height and working conditions.
Four Problems That Commonly Delay an Overhead Crane Project
See the constraint, the engineering response and the practical result before you request a quotation.
Low Headroom Constraint
Limited workshop height and insufficient overhead space make it impossible to install standard overhead cranes, as their excessive height profile fails to provide the required lifting travel.
By optimizing the layout of the end carriages and the hoisting mechanism, the overall height of the crane is minimized, ensuring sufficient lifting height even in low-ceiling workshops.
Load Instability and Deflection
Significant main girder deflection under full load causes noticeable load swinging. Standard girders lack adequate rigidity, bending heavily under heavy loads, which causes the workpiece to sway and increases the risk of damaging precision parts through collisions.
The main girder utilizes thickened steel plates with an optimized cross-section to deliver superior rigidity. The full-load deflection is strictly controlled within national standards, ensuring smooth and stable lifting operations.
Mechanical Shock and Rapid Track Wear
Severe impact loads occur during crane startup and braking due to the "hard starts" of legacy motors. This causes rapid wear on both the wheels and the tracks, driving up maintenance and replacement costs.
The VFD system enables ultra-smooth starts and stops, drastically reducing impact loads. This minimizes wheel and track wear, ultimately extending the service life of the entire equipment.
Hazardous Environments (Flammable/Explosive Dust)
Standard overhead cranes cannot be used in workshops with flammable or explosive dust. In chemical or dusty environments, conventional lifting equipment easily generates sparks, failing to comply with safety inspection requirements.
Both the electrical and mechanical structures of the entire crane are manufactured to strict explosion-proof standards, eliminating potential spark hazards and perfectly adapting to lifting operations in hazardous workshops.
Key Details That Define the Right Overhead Crane
Capacity alone does not determine the right crane. Hook coverage, available headroom, travel speed, duty class, control method and maintenance access all affect the final configuration.
Load capacity & structural integrity
Evaluate rated load limits, safety factors and structural reinforcement to ensure reliable performance under maximum working conditions.
Motion matched to the process
Discuss travel speed, braking, variable-frequency control and operator interfaces around the handling task.
Maintenance access & service intervals
Plan walkways, inspection platforms and lubrication points to reduce downtime and simplify routine maintenance throughout the crane's service life.
Load capacity & structural integrity
Evaluate rated load limits, safety factors and structural reinforcement to ensure reliable performance under maximum working conditions.
Travel speed & positioning accuracy
Analyse trolley and bridge travel speeds alongside variable frequency drives to achieve precise load positioning and smooth acceleration control.
Integration, scalability & future-proofing
Ensure seamless integration with existing systems, plan for scalability and consider long-term adaptability to evolving operational requirements.

Overhead Crane FAQ
Clear answers to the questions procurement teams and plant engineers usually ask before requesting a quotation.
How much does an overhead crane cost?
Price depends on capacity, span, lifting height, duty class, control method, runway scope, electrical configuration and delivery location. A working-condition review is required before an accurate quotation can be prepared.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please share the required capacity, span or workshop width, lifting height, material handled, operating frequency, indoor or outdoor environment, power supply and project location. Drawings and site photos are helpful when available.
Should you choose a single or double girder crane?
Single girder cranes often suit practical light-to-medium service and lower structural weight. Double girder cranes are usually considered for heavier loads, longer spans, demanding duty or configurations requiring greater access and flexibility. Final selection should follow the actual load case and building limits.
Can the crane fit an existing workshop?
Yes, in many cases. We review runway geometry, roof clearance, column spacing, available hook height, electrical supply and installation access. An under-running, low-headroom or compact configuration may help where space is restricted.
How long does production take?
Lead time depends on crane type, customization, component selection, production schedule and testing scope. The confirmed delivery plan will be stated in the quotation after the technical configuration is agreed.
Can installation be provided?
Remote guidance or on-site installation support can be arranged according to project location, local requirements and the agreed scope of supply. Site readiness and responsibility boundaries should be confirmed before shipment.
What warranty and spare parts are included?
Warranty period, coverage and recommended spare parts are specified in the commercial offer. We can prepare a spare-parts list based on crane configuration, operating intensity and the buyer's maintenance plan.
